At Memorial Field on Thursday night, senior Rylie Poll scored four goals, including what proved to be the game-winner in the fourth quarter, as the Hornets picked up a one goal victory over the Bears in a non-league game.
Poll had her second four goal game of the season and also registered her 100th career point as Emmaus improved to 5-1 on the season while dropping Boyertown to 1-5.
Senior Sarah Gross recorded a hat trick in the win and classmate Kate Newhard also scored her first goal of the season. Sophomore Evelyn Gavin had a team-high two assists while junior goalie Kate Rainford made four saves.
For Boyertown, junior Emily Ulrich had two goals and an assist, and classmate Camryn Friz also added a pair of goals. In goal, senior Teagan Tyson had 10 stops.
The Hornets will be off until next week when they play two of their biggest games of the season against four-time defending EPC champion Pleasant Valley on Tuesday at home at 6:30 p.m. before traveling to Nazareth on Thursday at 6:30 p.m.
