Boys LAX – Mains and Barber power Emmaus to big second half as Hornets win eighth straight with 14-7 victory over Solehi in charity event

Kaleb Mains (5) scored a season-high five goals in the Hornets 14-7 win over Solehi on Saturday.

RECAP >> A nine-goal second half proved to be the difference for Emmaus as the Hornets defeated Southern Lehigh 14-7 on Saturday afternoon in Center Valley. The game was part of the annual Crosse Out Cancer event.

The win completed a 4-0 week and it was the eighth straight for head coach Justin Fuhrman’s squad who improved to 12-1 overall.

Junior Kaleb Mains led all scorers in the victory with a season-high five goals for the Hornets. Teammate Will Barber also had a big game with a seven-point effort (4g/3a), while classmate Liam Rooney added five points (2g/3a).

Senior Michael Chies and juniors Gabe Chies and Jewlien Torres also scored goals.

Southern Lehigh was paced by junior Cade Robbins who had a hat trick. Classmate Cole Mack and freshman Otto Young each added two goals, while freshman goalie Eli Dancho was busy making 18 saves. The Spartans dropped to 5-5 with the loss.

Emmaus will return to action on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. as they host Bethlehem Catholic (1-8).
