At Center Valley on Thursday night, host Southern Lehigh outscored Emmaus in three of the four quarters in the Spartans 14-8 win.
For the winners, senior Matt Smith led all scorers with a game-high six goals. Junior Otto Young added four goals and an assist, sophomore Tanner Traub had a hat trick, classmate Connor Wayock had a game-high four assists while junior goalie Eli Dancho came up with 14 saves for Solehi which improved to 7-6 on the season.
Emmaus was led by sophomore Alex Younker who accounted for half of his team’s offense with his third four goal game of the season. Classmate Greyson Schmidt and junior Anthony Attar each added a goal and an assist.
At the faceoff X, Emmaus won 16 of 27 with senior Colin Garrett going 9 for 17 and freshman Max Weber 7 of 10.
The Hornets will return to action at 10 a.m. on Saturday as they travel to Governor Mifflin. The Mustangs are 8-4-1 on the season.
