At Saucon Valley on Tuesday afternoon, the Hornets found themselves in a battle with the upset-minded Panthers as the hosts forced overtime.
And in the extra session, freshman Lauren Hawk scored the game-winning goal as Saucon Valley handed Emmaus its second straight one goal loss, 10-9.
Freshman Grace Donahue had a big day in leading the Panthers (6-7 overall) to the victory with five goals, sophomore Tess Andrews recorded a hat trick and two assists while Hawk added two goals. In goal, sophomore Leah Guest recorded 12 saves, including the 300th in her career.
For Emmaus, senior Rylie Poll had her second five goal game of the season. Avery Aquino and Taylor Younker each added a pair of goals and an assist for the Hornets who fell to 10-5 overall on the season.
Emmaus will now prepare for an all-important EPC matchup on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. as rival Parkland comes to Memorial Field.
